England Cricket Tour to South Africa

December 2009/January 2010

South Africa is a land of big skies, rugged and varied scenery, good food and fine wines with a growing fan base of knowledgeable supporters.  Legendary grounds such as The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, the stunning setting of Newlands tucked under the rear of Table Mountain in Cape Town or Kingsmead in Durban reverberate to the memory of thundering deliveries and flashing blades by the cricketing greats of the past.

With the matches stretching over Christmas and the New Year this is an opportunity to take the whole family adding tailor made beach extensions and safaris or scenic extensions to the forgotten wastes of Namibia or to Zambia from where the full might of the Victoria Falls can be seen in what should be the full flood of the Summer rainy season swelling the roar of the mighty Zambezi River as it plunges unimpeded across a mile wide chasm to the river bed over 300 feet below.

The Itinerary

A detailed itinerary is still awaited but it is planned that England will spend a 2 week period acclimatising and playing warm up matches during the latter part of November followed by 4 Test matches and 5 ODIs during February and March.   If the past is anything to go by the highlights will include a Boxing Day Test in Durban followed by a New Year Test in Cape Town.

You can be sure however that we will have all 4 Tests to offer.  These can be taken either as single or multiple Test packages with added tailor made beach extensions to suit your needs.  We shall also be able to offer the warm up matches and ODI tours offered as stand alone packages or combined as above with Test matches and/or beach extensions.
